Pittsburgh Light Up Night and More!

Hey There!

I hope you had a nice weekend. Mine was busy, busy, busy but a lot of fun 🙂

Friday night we took the T downtown for Light Up Night. I think Scott and I have gone every year since we’ve been dating so its kind of a tradition for us now.

The night started off at Pirata, a pirate-themed bar. It’s right off Market Square so it was packed, but the drinks and ambiance definitely made it worth it. They even had Pirates of the Carribean playing!

Scott had their Stoned Manhattan and I rolled with my usual- wine. Both were A+. My friend Becca had their Message in the Bottle cocktail which she really enjoyed.

After saying goodbye to Becca, we met up with Scott’s sisters. We didn’t even know they were headed to Light Up Night, so it was a nice surprise.

We strolled around with them and took in all the holiday spirit!

Saturday morning started off early, at the roller rink! I’m apart of Big Brothers Big Sisters, so I’m always trying to think of fun things to take my “little sister” to. She had never been roller skating before!

It was a little (very) scary in the beginning. i.e. lots of falling and praying that my little wouldn’t need a trip to the ER. Thank goodness we went to the beginner skate session! After warming up for about an hour we definitely were much better, but I don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon. The rink was nice and quite affordable.

The rest of Saturday was spent getting a much-needed haircut and color and then spending the night planted on the couch.

^ Not a great picture of my face, but you can see my new look!

Sunday was a very special day- a princess birthday party for a family friend at Scott’s parents’ house! As you can imagine, a lot of pink was involved.  Scott’s fam always throws the cutest little get-togethers. Every detail was adorable (and pink!). His sister even made the amazing cake!

Thank goodness it’s a short work week! I cannot wait for Thanksgiving! I have some recipes coming at you later this week if you still need ideas!

Well, that’s all for now.
