I hope you had a relaxing weekend!
Scott and I decided to celebrate Valentines Day this past Saturday. We’ll be away next weekend and it wouldn’t be as fun to celebrate it on the weekday that vday falls on this year.
We decided DiAnoia’s would be the perfect little spot to spend vday. I’d never heard of DiAnoia’s until I saw a video on Facebook of their gnocchi served in a bread bowl! Carbs on top of carbs- I couldn’t make the reservation fast enough:-)!
DiAnoia’s is a cute Italian restaurant located in the Strip District. They offer a selection of authentic Italian food ranging from delicious shareable plates to amazing homemade pasta dishes. I am not even kidding -everything was hands down, the best I ever had!
We started off with their fresh-baked bread with oil and Parmigiano Reggiano. The oil and cheese are both generously spread across the piping hot flatbread. My mouth is literally watering as I type this. So good! Get this.
We also got the house salad to share, but…… I forgot to take a picture because I was too busy munching on the bread.
For my main course, I decided on the Tripolino Di Funghi, described on the menu as “locally foraged mushrooms, baby spinach, white wine, Parmigiano Reggiano.” So simple, yet so delicious. You could taste the quality ingredients in every bite.
Scott decided to forgo the delectable pasta dishes and selected the Braised Veal for his main course. The veal was served on a bed on creamy polenta and pesto. I am not the biggest fan of veal, but it legitimately melted in my mouth. The polenta was also out of this world. Wouldn’t recommend this dish if you’re watching your sodium intake.
So as you can imagine, I highly recommend DiAnoia’s. Food was great, our waitress was adorable and the parking was free 🙂
Well, that’s all for now!
